“I love storytelling. It’s what the arts are all about. All of us, companies included, have stories to tell—what we do and why we do it. I enjoy being part of a team that works so creatively to solve benefits communications problems for our clients.”
Sure, we all have stories to tell, but few are as fascinating as Phoebe’s life story. It begins with her upbringing in the South, segues into stints performing in music halls across Europe (even at New York’s Carnegie Hall), and is currently unfolding here in San Francisco.
The daughter of a Navy pilot, Phoebe moved around a lot as a child. And she’s been eager for new adventures ever since. During her very colorful and multi-faceted career, Phoebe has worn many different hats, among them: choral singer, video camera operator, still photographer, non-profit organization administrator, office manager, ACLU legal secretary, multi-image and audio-visual presentation producer, and rock band musician.
That eclectic experience has served us well since Phoebe first joined Benz as our office manager. As the rudder that kept our office sailing so smoothly for 7 years, Phoebe also left her mark on our work with clients. After years of demonstrating uncompromising attention to detail and commitment to quality, Phoebe was a natural fit for proofreading.
As our full-time copy editor and proofreader, she’s flexing all the skills she developed during earlier stints with a book publisher and a design agency to ensure our content is flawless. And as someone who knows the befuddling Chicago Manual of Style like the back of her hand, it’s particularly fitting that Phoebe also creates and maintains editorial style guides for each of our clients.
