Timarie Lawrence
Senior Consultant
“I want people to not be afraid of their benefits; I want them to understand them so that they can take full advantage of them in order to improve the quality of their lives. Improving our lives isn’t something we should do every January 1, when we set New Year’s resolutions; it’s something we can do every single day, even in small ways.”
Wellness comes in many ways to Timarie Lawrence, often easy, often familiar. She tastes it in the rich, plump oranges that grow in the organic garden her father planted in the 60s. It’s in the ocean breeze that reaches her Huntington Beach home and touches her face. Wellness has a permanent place in her kitchen, where she has prepared many meals for her husband, children and large extended family.
And just as effortlessly as wellness comes to Timarie, so too does Timarie give it back—through her benefits writing and employee communications and with a sense of calm and ease that puts our clients in good moods.
Our Senior Consultant’s appreciation for health and wellness—and all the big and small ways it manifests itself—has made her stand out in the HR communications world. While at Aon Hewitt, she produced two award-winning Wellness Guides.
Her expansive portfolio includes work in benefits communication and strategy, internal communication, PR, and marketing and sales support materials over a career that spans 30 years in some big-name companies, including Washington Mutual and PacifiCare Behavioral Health (now part of UnitedHealth Group).
She’s known as a word-loving, problem-solving, people-person who listens well and is perceptive to the client’s needs.
Being creative is fun, and keeps life interesting, Timarie likes to say. It’s not something she strives for, it just sort of happens.
Maybe it’s this natural gratefulness for creativity and life that has made wellness come so easily to her, and the flowers in her garden smell so good.
