Jennifer Benz has a passion for getting people to go to great lengths—for themselves. Her mission in consulting, as in life, is to empower people to become their best. And when people take advantage of health care, wellness, and financial programs, they can’t help but better themselves.
She has been on the leading edge of employee benefits communication for more than 10 years—starting with early adopter consumer-driven health plan implementations and now with innovative wellness and social media strategies. Her work has been recognized by Business Insurance, the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), the Profit Sharing Council of America and others.
A well-known expert in employee benefits communication, Jen has published articles and is widely quoted in many trade publications, including Employee Benefit News, MWorld, The Conference Board Review and Workforce. You can also find her writing on our blog. She speaks regularly about communication, social media and health care reform.
Prior to starting Benz Communications, Jen spent seven years at Hewitt Associates, where she helped shape the firm’s approach to health care communication and had tremendous success with health care, recruiting and other strategic HR projects.
Today, Jen and her team combine that big-firm experience with a big helping of creativity to help companies—and their people—get results that last lifetimes.
Jen holds a BS in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia—which means she has the AP Style Guide and isn’t afraid to use it. A long-time San Francisco resident, she is an active member of the Council for Communication Management, the International Association of Business Communicators, the Northern California Human Resources Association and Women in Consulting. She also devotes as much time as she can to pro bono work with nonprofit business incubators in San Francisco and Guatemala.
