Isabelle Englund-Geiger
Creative Director and COO
“Design is about the results, and should not be an end in itself. Design that looks great but doesn’t achieve the desired communications and business goals is not good design. Design is meant to help us understand what is going on, both on a conscious and subconscious level. And if it makes our world better looking while at it, hey, then it’s great design. For me good design is what ties everything together and makes it all come alive. But ultimately it’s just one part of the larger business picture.
And, for amazing design to happen, all parts of the project have to be really good. That’s why I love working with my team at Benz, because I get to work with the best of the best.”
When in doubt, ask Isabelle. We’ve spent the past few years doing so, benefiting from her insightful creative guidance in the process. As Creative Director, Isabelle manages our design, project management and web development teams in addition to being the creative vision behind all of our print and web design campaigns, creating results and award-winning work.
Isabelle has never set much stock in the adage to “Do only one thing and do only that, well.” A yarn enthusiast who completed “all-but-thesis” graduate work in cultural anthropology, Isabelle has always done many things, and we can’t help but notice she manages to do them all well—with passion, thoroughness, and business smarts. Isabelle sees the interconnectedness of ideas in ways that make our clients look really good. Her fresh perspectives and colors have lit up enrollment campaigns and other benefits programs for clients like Intuit, the California Health Care Coalition, and Ardent Health.
Before joining Benz, Isabelle was a co-founder and Creative Director of Fox Parlor, a boutique studio where she led a collaborative and cross-disciplinary team of talented designers and Web developers creating results-producing, effective designs for both B2C and B2B clients, including us.
Born in Sweden, Isabelle has lived in San Francisco since 1991. She has as BA in social anthropology from San Francisco State University, with the bulk of her studies completed in Sweden, at Lund University.
