Brian Bookwalter

Production Designer

“I am passionate about clear communication through good design and because it’s so important that people fully understand their benefits, I am excited about the opportunity to make a difference.”

Brian Bookwalter’s hands are always creating something.

Sometimes they’re setting up the lights and sounds of his small theater company. Other times, his hands are making posters on a letterpress or shirts through silk screening.

But we like it best when his hands are on his iMac. That’s when they’re designing amazing newsletters and websites for our clients, when he brings all his experience in art and production and packages it neatly into a design that helps families understand their benefits.

He assists our art director in all phases of a project, from generating ideas to preparing art for press. He’s especially good at defining a problem, which he finds is the best way to find a solution.

A San Francisco native, Brian graduated from the graphic communications program at City College of San Francisco. He spends many hours running his small theater company, a nonprofit, with his sister. He’s also an avid traveller who has spent time living in cities throughout the world.

Those hands stay pretty busy too, even when they’re not creating something. His favorite way to spend a Sunday is walking his dog at Fort Funston or Crissy Fields.
